Meet Head Coach: Ray

I have been training Muay Thai kickboxing for 12 years now. I started at Nak Muay gym under Kru Eric Karner back in 2013. I had my first Muay Thai fight in 2016, and I started teaching in 2017. That’s when Bill Algeo took over Nak Muay gym and changed it to Algeo MMA. I ended up competing a total of 12 times. I won a championship belts and medals. However, I ended concluding that fighting is great and all, but I found out that my passion is actually teaching Muay Thai/self-defense. As much as I liked going up against other skilled competitors, there’s nothing like passing down the knowledge that I have acquired to brand-new students and seeing them learn and be able to perform moves they couldn’t do before. Seeing that smile on their face when they’re able to do things they couldn’t make me happy.

Our goal here at 9Tails kickboxing is to help everyone have a good, healthy hobby that will help them develop confidence, discipline, self-defense, a community, and most importantly, have fun!
